How We Build a Website
We won't go into mind-numbing detail. This isn't an article for budding web developers and/or designers. However, we thought it might be nice to shed some light on the not-so-mysterious world of web development. At least the approach we like to take.
Stage 1 — Consultation
Before we begin rennovating an old-school site or building one from the ground up our first task is to discuss the project in depth with you, the client. It's always best to get a firm grasp of not only what you would like to accomplish with your site but whether or not you have any notions coming into the project as to an overall design aesthetic. We discuss your vision and whether it fits within your budget. We develop a structure that's relatable to your audience.
Stage 2 — Design
Next we provide a variety of concepts. We typically create anywhere from 2-3 digital comps based on our initial discussion.
Stage 3 — Development
Once you've narrowed down your favorite idea and once we've made any final adjustments we start rolling out the website. We wireframe the layout into something that's most suitable for your content. We build the template/theme based on the finalized comp. Everything is standards compliant, SEO optimized, and accessible across multiple browsers. We also keep you in the loop throughout the entire process.
Stage 4 — Approval
Once we've bult the site and added all the available content we hand a development-only site over to you for a final walk-through. We make any necessary changes or additions. Once you've signed off on it we take the site live.
