Search Engine Optimization… how it works
Search Engine Optimization, or SEO, is the driving force behind your website's search engine ranking. All of our sites are built with SEO in mind. We don't skimp on the additional effort it takes to create a balance of keyword rich content, pretty URLs, and behind-the-scenes mojo. The more relevant content you have on your site the better chances you have of reaching the stars.
One of the most important aspects of rock-solid SEO is the use of back-linking. This involves building a foundation of critical networks that drive traffic back to your site. For instance, having your site listed on high-traffic, high-ranked sites can be one of the most important elements in creating solid rankings.
The Good News — we build your site with SEO in mind. We help you enrich your content with relevant information.
The Bad News — because we are a small design studio, the SEO we provide is limited to within the walls of your site. We can instruct you on the various avenues to take and of course recommend niche SEO companies whose sole purpose in life is to improve your site rankings.
Buyer Beware — there's no magic bullet. Don't listen to anyone claiming they can get you to the top of Google tomorrow. It isn't cheap. It requires time, effort and energy. The payoffs can be worth it though.
Meta Tags: Keywords
You may have heard of the term Keywords. These are common search terms that are often placed on web pages behind the scenes. Unless you choose to look at the page's source code in your browser you won't see them. There was a time when these were vital to search engine rankings, however this is no longer the case. Over the years they've taken on less and less importance. These days search engines such as Google and Yahoo place absolutely zero importance on meta keywords. Some developers continue to use them. Their reasoning… why not, it can't actually hurt. The opposing argument is that they're essentially useless so why use them. Our thought on the matter… whatever floats your boat. Use 'em if you've got 'em. Just don't expect miracles.
